Salvage from the Internet

Yoho, a bottle of rum and some wenches all round. One of my friends sent me a link to a collaborative exhibition, right here in our sunny little corner of the Cotswolds. There's four very talented photographers involved in this work, and theres an exhibition on friday. On a bus. I know, thats fantastic in itself. I say round up your friends, family, dog and the cat if he's interested, and check it out

A new wing to the gallery

Just to save a bit of time in uploading I thought I'd create an extra section. Seeing as I'll be putting up the good, bad, ugly and whatever else is in arms reach, I've added an extra page specifically to home all my little creations and things specifically related to Concept art.
So feel free to look up there, yeah, just there; no, right a bit. The bit where it says concept art, click that and take a look.

A little noir for you

This is my little foray into the deep, dark, bristling world of comic book inking. This little number is a final piece based on a scarecrow design I finally perfected a while back.

Thought this one looked pretty splendid, if I say so myself.
I'm going to try and do a few more finished pieces like this

The trials of a doodlenaut

I'm sorry to say, but there's no picture to go along with this little chapter of the story book; so reading this will be a little boring, so I should keep it short and sweet. I won't be uploading for a little while, I have a massive project to do along the lines of concept art; but rest assured my beloved apostles, when its finished, I will be uploading more pictures and designs than you could shake a stick or small child at
So sit back, relax, grab some popcorn and enjoy the calm before the storm

Another dip into the archives

This is easily one of my favorite animations. Okay, quick disclaimer, this was done years ago and it is pretty crude; but at the time I was the only person in my class trying something new, so small personal victory there (that consolidation helped me sleep at night for a while). This is not actually finished, unfortunately, but I think I may have another go at this type of animation. Also, off topic, this was made shortly before the time I found out Placebo have a song called "space monkey". Which well frankly, is just terrible timing. Enjoy, I may have more, shiney, tasty and new papermation up soon.

A trip down memory lane

I went foraging through the dark, electronic jungle that is my inbox, and I came across a quiet, peaceful little tribe known as my college animation projects. I had no idea these little snippets of history even existed. I'm gonna go look for some more, getting all teary eyed finding these

The power of imagination

Made while listening to Yppah. Check them out, they're great.
And they're happy backwards, so whats not to like!
Another testiment to the fact that I am not evil if evil wore a fashionable coat, I thought I'd put up my latest piece.

This started of as a little thought on the whole "doodlenaut" moniker, so I made this little foray into drawing absolutely everything the second it comes into your head, and this delightful anc colourful scribble is the result.

Look at it, its so cheery and colourful its almost offensive! That is bound to get me noticed, even if its for a slap, to avenge someone's burnt out corneas.

The lighter side of my work

Just to show I'm not all doom, gloom and sneaking into your room I thought I'd put something bright, warm and cheery up.

The joy of rotoscopic photograph editing, a mouthful but great fun to do; I suggest others try their hand at this.

Next time I feel euphorically happy I'll make something else like this and glue it on the Internet

One good turn

One of my fellows in Illustration was kind enough to immortalize me in blue text, so I feel I should offer her the same kindness.
http://www.sea-in-a-sieve.blogspot.com/

She's almost a polar opposite to my work, wonderfully colourful; lighthearted and beautifully scruffy.

A quick intermission

A quick break from the cropping, swapping, uploading and pizza scoffing.
Heres the website of an old friend and a pretty damn talented Photographer. Its warm, its personal, its lovely and well made. I personally think this type of photography is alot better than the ones that try to make good on the "pictures are worth a thousand word" phrase

This Blog still looks a little malnourished

A bit more for this blog to fatten up; this work is backlogged a little from last Christmas, where I had nothing much else to do besides doodle away.

First up is a self portrait of me; with the exception of me walking around with an impressionist background taped to my side, this is pretty much how I look

Next in line is a Dexter-style drawing of my Best friend, looking grisly and downright marvellous

Another one of my lovely friends, again; she doesn't regularly sport a revolver the size of her arm, but I think this catches her personality quite well

This one is not a portrait of anyone I know, nobody I know hitches rides on sky-galleons. Thinking about it, I'm clearly hanging out with the wrong type of people

From what was originally me messing around with a charicaturistic self portrait quickly mutated into a new drawing style for me. I've done curly and ornate before, but never this well. It's a shame, but I haven't tried this in a while, I think I should get my hands back on it.
If anyone would like one of these portraits, I shall see what my little hands can invent for you
Something deliciously dark to get this page looking a little more colourful; this is my own take on Zombies. You see shambling corpses absolutely everywhere in Films and Video games (thankfully, not in reality) and I thought its about time I got one of these and played Dr Frankenstein for a while.
Hand drawn then given colour, flare and a kiss for good luck in Gimp 2.6

Just a quick update, here is the doodle that became the unsettling piece of work just above, this was done in 6H and 2H pencils, just to keep things nice and simple. Ta ta for now

Ah, a place for my work to call home

Greetings, welcome to the birth of something...unusal. I finally get to add all my lovely little creations onto the sprawling spiderweb of the Internet. I have the space, now its time for me to start sticking things into this electric scrapbook.
Keep flicking back regularly, I'll have something pretty up, just for you
